I’ve come to accept that I’m a hoarder! I can never get enough of having small, meaningful trinkets that remind me of places, people, and moments!

I love things that keep memories alive, and while photos may be good enough for some, others prefer to hold their memories in objects. So, it’s easy to understand why souvenirs are so popular. Every city and town has its own version of a souvenir store in some way, and Denver is no different.

Denver is shadowed by the picturesque Rocky Mountains and is an attractive destination for wanderlust individuals with wild souls. Of course, that’s not to mention Denver’s bustling city life, which is also a joy to experience.

So, when your trip ends, and you’re pained to stamp your passport and head back home, you can always take comfort in knowing there is plenty of shopping in Denver that you can do to pick up little goodies to take home with you.

In this article, I’ll include some of my favorite trinkets to take home that will help keep the memory of your Colorado adventure alive!

Things to Buy in Denver to Satisfy Your Magpie Heart

Denver, Colorado, is known for its gorgeous outdoor scenery, which has been an attractive quality for wanderlust travelers across the globe!

It’s easy to get caught up in the beauty of it all, not to mention the thriving cultural scene of Denver! You’re bound to be a busybody, and if you’re anything like me, the last thing on your mind will be grabbing a little souvenir to take home for mom.

So, when time catches up to you, and you’re rushing to find a little piece of your experience to take home with you, you can always refer to this helpful guide of must-have souvenirs from Denver.

5. A Colorful Coloradical T-Shirt

Local creation, Coloradical is the best way to wear a badge of honor from your travels. And it’s not as tacky as an “I Love Denver” shirt.

Instead, the quirky designs hide a little piece of Denver, from the well-known bears to picturesque sunsets over the mountains, in a stylish and modern way that’ll fit right in with your wardrobe.

It’s a piece of the city you can take everywhere, and it won’t be a red flag at an International Airport.

4. Customized Concert Posters

I’ve mentioned Denver’s incredible cultural scene, and this is, in part, due to the Red Rock Theatre. The music scene of Denver is legendary, with names like Queen, U2, Bruce Springsteen, and more taking the stage at some of Denver’s most significant events. Unsurprisingly, you can find a host of music memorabilia throughout the town!

You can even make your own music posters. 5280 Custom Framing is known for its customizable concert posters. So, you can make a poster to fit your bedroom aesthetic but still proudly display the name of great musicians and bands! And you won’t find better quality elsewhere.

3. A Funky Topo Designs Backpack

Topo Designs is a Denver-based brand that creates unique and retro-styled apparel unique to the region. Their products are made from recycled materials and offer functionality and style!

Colorful, playful, and fun, Topo Designs apparel is a surefire way to stand out in a crowd.

And their backpacks are by far their most popular merchandise. They come in a variety of types for different uses.

Whether you’re looking for a funky hiking pack or standout luggage, Topo Designs has you covered. Plus, they make great gifts!

2. Candy from Hammond’s Candies

Nobody can resist the sweet temptation of sugary goodness, and in Denver, you can’t get much better than Hammond’s Candies. You won’t be able to resist the colorful candy canes, ribbon candy, and chocolate treats created by this century-old company.

The times may have changed, but the recipe certainly hasn’t, and you can’t find a sweet treat that screams Denver more than this. Remember to grab extras to bring back for your friends and family.

1. Gemstones and Fossils

Gems, minerals, and fossils are all little pieces directly off the Rockies that tourists can take home with them. There are plenty of local, small businesses like Denver Crystals and Gems, where you can get cut and polished stones that’ll make perfect little souvenirs for friends, family, or simply to add to your personal collection.

Where to Go Shopping in Denver?

Denver is a big place with plenty of shopping opportunities for those who need a hefty dose of retail therapy.

Wandering around the city, you’ll be greeted by stores lining the sidewalk with unique and exciting wares to pique your interest. Not to mention the dozens of malls where you can quite literally shop ’til you drop. But it’s always easier to know where to go first.

Cherry Creek Shopping Center

Cherry Creek Shopping Centre has been a part of the area since 1990 and has exploded into one of the Rocky Mountain region’s largest and most prestigious shopping centers.

Over 160 stores and restaurants are in the building, including high-end brands like Louis Vuitton and a few local Denver brands like Allbirds.

Not only is it a retail hub, but a Denver shopping attraction known for its upscale design and grandeur. You’ll feel like royalty even if you’re just stopping by for some Panda Express.

16th Street Mall

Imagine a mall big enough to have its very own shuttle service. You’ll love 16th Street Mall. Spanning over a mile, with 300 individual stores from well-known brands to Denver boutiques, this mall has etched its way onto Denver’s list of things to do. It is one of the best places to shop in Denver.

Fetch Shop

Previously known as Denver Flea, the Fetch Shop is a conceptualized store that Blake Adams and his team imagined. They’ve taken the idea of a weekly flea market and turned it into a permanent entity with artisanal stalls alternating every few months to keep the flow going.

If you’re looking for uniquely Denver shopping, this is as good as it gets. While the concept is still new, I suspect there are more extraordinary things to come, and personally, I’m a sucker for a good market!
